Reuben Schooler: E-RYT 200, LMBT- NC License 7808

Reuben discovered his innate desire and ability as a healer through the spiritual science of yoga.  Since that time, Reuben has devoted himself to the study and practice of radiant health and well-being.  As a young adult Reuben was an active runner, rugby player, and beach volleyball player. Later, Reuben turned to the practice of yoga postures to heal his body and mind from the stress that had manifested as various chronic dis-ease conditions.  In 2001, Reuben became a certified personal trainer with NETA and after several years of yoga practice, Reuben became a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance in 2004.  In 2005, he met his mentor and teacher, Dr. Samuel Sasu of Ghana (West Africa).  Studying Ayurveda with Dr. Sasu led Reuben to become a licensed massage therapist in early 2008. Reuben is licensed to practice bodywork in North Carolina and is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.  Reuben earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University where he was a Reginaldo Howard Scholar.  As well as continuing to enjoy a successful career in the Information Technology industry, Reuben has traveled extensively in North and South America, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and South East Asia and is grateful for the opportunity to bring a world of experience to his offerings as a holistic healer, Ayurveda practitioner, bodyworker, and yoga teacher.  Reuben has devoted himself to the study and practice of radiant health and well-being in order to help others and is a willing and able contributor in the field of integrative medicine.

Participants will learn to safely and effectively guide their students into optimally aligned asanas. This workshop will include a brief warm-up, then give participants the opportunity to deepen their experience and expand their confidence in giving hands-on yoga assists and adjustments. Detailed instruction will be given for a plethora of yoga asana so that students can feel successful, strong, and open, and teachers accomplished.

3:30 – 5:00PM Balancing The Elements With Asana $29

Students will be led through an intelligent sequence with skillful bio-mechanics that invites them to deepen their understanding of the 5 elements, and how they work within each individual. The practice of yoga is and has been a tool for refining one’s approach to oneself and to life. Here, participants will hone their ability to engage with the elements — earth, water, fire, air and space — to connect with the experience of balance, harmony, and well-being. This practice will include dynamic movement, partner work, standing poses, hip and heart openers, inversions, twists, and forward folds to leave students feeling open, revitalized, and clear.

Costa Rica has stolen my heart…this will be my 4th trip to Manuel Antonio.  The town of Manuel Antonio is gorgeous…and you will see a mix of locals and tourists, it is not a busy place and  everyone literally “takes time to smell the roses” here.  Our home is located in Tulemar, the only gated community in Manuel Antonio.  We will be greeted by our personal concierge, private housekeeper who is there 8AM – 5PM Monday – Saturday to keep our house impeccable, including complimentary laundry services should you desire (yes please)! If you take any excursions, a fresh, healthy lunch is generally included.  There is a large Refrigerator as well as a wine frig just for attendees to put personal items in. Grocery Shops that sell ALL beverages as well as restaurants are very easy access by foot or free shuttle to the gate of our community (then places are right there) or our private concierge can arrange a cab for door-to-door.  Lots of great restaurants…reasonably priced and easy access, like everything in Manuel Antonio!

About Additional Excursions
The house, private grounds, and beach, are all breath-taking so extra excursions are not needed to have an amazing time; however exploring the country is a blast. We will be taking a Sunset Catamaran Tour so you will see the coast-line and amazing beaches. Most outings will pick you up between 8:00AM and 10:00AM directly from our house. I will make all reservations for these. You will pay the day of and can cancel within 48 hours should you change your mind.
Best Days For Extra Outings are noted with a **(Mon,Wed,Thurs,Fri) and I will coordinate with the group and get all reservations organized for you, payment is made the day of the outing.
Most outings will include a healthy, fresh lunch…tours generally are 8:30 – 3:00PM and you will be picked up and dropped off at our door. (times include the drive)

Room Selection is First Come First Serve All are beautiful and spacious…the house has many places to escape on your own with patios, verandas, porches, etc…to read a book or sneak in a nap.
*The house has 4 beautiful berooms all with their own bathroom and private terrace (King Bedroom, 2 (large)Twins, 2 Queens, 2 Queens). Should you have 3 friends and want to all share one of the Queen rooms, contact Patty for details but pricing would be $1399 each.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy: Deposit of $300 to Hold Space 50% is refundable through August 15th. August 15th 50% of total is due (deposit paid applies to total) Balance is due October 31st. Should you have the need to cancel, the reservation can be transferred to another person (you would arrange the finances there). Should you choose to fully cancel, 25% of fees paid not including the deposit would be deducted from your refund. Cancelations made 90 days before the trip are subject to 50% and within 30 days non-refundable again unless you find an appropriate person to take your place, approved by roommate and coordinator.
